About The Committees

The Membership Committee hosts a yearly membership drive, maintains membership records, and plans events for current and potential members, including a summer barbeque and a Welcome to DC Party.

The Marketing and Technology Committee is responsible for our monthly newsletters, collateral design and production, website updates/upgrades, social media accounts and web-based technology tools that help promote Club activities and membership.

The Service Committee plans monthly service projects for alumni, in addition to coordinating Cavaliers Care Week for the DC area. Cavaliers Care is a Young Alumni Council initiative to have all UVa alumni around the globe participate in service projects to commemorate Thomas Jefferson's birthday.

The Schools Committee reaches out to high school students and guidance counselors through college fairs and information sessions, and organizes a phone-a-thon to welcome newly accepted students.

The Social Committee plans a variety of activities including happy hours, hiking trips, Gold Cup, theater events, wine tastings, and much more.

The Sports Committee coordinates all of the club's athletic teams: Softball, Kickball, Basketball, and Flag Football. In addition, the committee organizes game-watching events for UVA Football and Basketball.

The Young Alumni Committee assists recent graduates within 2 years transition to both the social and professional network in DC. The Young Alumni Committee coordinates a myriad of events which include ACC happy hours, brunch in eastern market, lighting of the mall, and many more.
