Alexandria Seaport Foundation Event

Join fellow Hoos in supporting the Alexandria Seaport Foundation!
The Alexandria Seaport Foundation is located on the water in Old Town Alexandria, and serves youth from all around the Washington DC area. The program uses boat building to teach math, science, and professional skills to juvenile offenders, high school drop outs, and other young people with a troubled past. While in the program they are paid a wage, and upon graduation receive a GED, a drivers license, and a job placement. The organization is hosting a wine tasting on the dock at Robinson Terminal in Old Town Alexandria. During the event you can walk around the workshop and see wooden boats built by at risk youth changing their lives through the Alexandria Seaport Foundation programs. Tickets to the event are $40.00, all the proceeds of which benefit the Foundation.
