Join other WAHOO volunteers as a one-on-one coach for a sports session for children ages 5-12 with disabilities through KEEN. KEEN will provide all equipment. Simply bring your energy and imagination. The session will begin with a brief orientation, which will include a synopsis of your athlete and his or her specific disability and limitations. You will be asked to provide information for three personal references: name and phone number only. Please review the orientation video and coaching tips prior to arrival.
KEEN is a national, nonprofit volunteer-led organization that provides one-to-one recreational opportunities for children and young adults with mental and physical disabilities at no cost to their families and caregivers. KEEN's mission is to foster the self-esteem, confidence, skills and talents of its athletes through non-competitive activities, allowing young people facing even the most significant challenges to meet their individual goals.
Tilden Middle School is located near Montgomery Mall. You may park on school grounds. Enter the school using the main entrance off Old Georgetown Road and you will then be directed to the Chorus Room by volunteers.
